June

Did you know today is National Go Barefoot Day? Me either. But it is. In honor of this non-traditional holiday, Scrap Girls had a challenge today to scrapbook about bare feet. So I gave myself a pedicure, and scrapped about it:

Supplies used to create this LO were:
Marnie Adams - 20 Sketches #2 eBook
Sheri Johnson - Handpainted Solids Paper Mini
Keri Schueller - Alive Collection
Brandy Murray - Baby Chronicles Collection
...... all found at ScrapGirls.com

A couple weeks ago, I created this layout about John's graduation:

Again, all the supplies used can be found at ScrapGirls.com :
Marnie Adams - Sketch from March 5th Sketch Crop
Valerie Randall - Brush Set: Graduate 1201
Syndee Nuckles - Noteworthy Collection Biggie
Angie Briggs - Scenic Route Collection Biggie

That's all the scrapping I've done in the last few weeks. My mojo is in a rut right now. Plus, Facebook (especially the silly Farm Town game) takes up a lot of my spare time.

In non-scrapbooking news....I've begun the apartment search process. Our current lease is up at the end of July, and rather than renew for another year, Holly and I are going our separate ways. She's getting an apartment up in North County, and I'll head back down to South City close to my family/work. It's frustrating trying to find the perfect apartment. There is a lot I want out of an apartment, but can't afford the premium rental prices that so many of them are charging. Wish me luck!

May

Hello to all the Tiza followers out there! (which I think is just you, Christina)
I've been informed that I owe you all an update, so here goes.

It's May. Life is busy. I spent the last few days out in South Jordan, UT, for John's college graduation. Can you believe it?? My baby brother is graduating college with his Bachelor's in Computer Science!! Here are a couple pics:

John, mom, grandma, and me - at Temple Square

John at Commencement!

Mom, John and me - near a river in Wasatch Cache National Forest. The water was freezing!

I had a great trip to Utah! It was my first time there. The scenery was gorgeous!! I loved the mountains in every direction! We went to Tracy Aviary, Temple Square, Neumont University (my bro's school), and a couple various parks to walk around. On Saturday night, we even drove up into the mountains at Wasatch Cache National Forest and did a little hiking. I took hundreds of photos, which unfortunately didn't come out to well because my camera stinks. I'll have to doctor up a lot of my pics in Photoshop, and post those later....if I remember. They'll be on Facebook at least.

Most of my time lately has been spent working, sleeping, or playing Farm Town. It's an addiction. You know how beginning writers are told to write what you know? Well, I scrapped what I know:

FARM TOWN (clicking here takes you to my Scrap Girls gallery for a larger view and a list of supplies used in creating the LO).

Like I said...addiction. That LO even shows my old ugly farm...it's much bigger and cooler now :)

Mother's Day was a couple weekends ago. For Mother's Day, I decorated some tea bag envelopes for my mom. Her favorite tea is this Ginger Peach tea by The Republic of Tea. Unfortunately, the tea bags come in a canister and are not individually wrapped, which makes them unportable. Theresa to the rescue!

[I don't have the list of supplies readily available....sorry!]

Aren't they adorable!?!? At first, she thought they were professionally made until she noticed the tape holding them together. She loved them :)

That's a bit of what I've been doing lately. I'll try to post more LOs and pics later.....

Long time, no post

So I've been horrible about updating this!! No posts since September? WOW, so much has changed since then.

I've now been digiscrapping for a whole year!!

My favorite website would have to be Scrap Girls. I spend all my time on their message board. These ladies (and guys and kids) are incredible! I've met so many wonderful people on that site, learned so much, and spent wayy too much money! My scrapbooking skills are slowly improving...or at least I think they are.

Here are a few of my recent LOs (clicking on the title takes you to my Scrap Girls gallery so you can see the LO credits and supplies used):

Mother & Me:

Love Stinks:

I also recently took a class over at Scrap Girls called "Conquering Your Fear of Patterned Paper." It was a 2-week online class, and while I can't say I'm over my fear of pp, I now know a few tricks about using them. Right now I'm working on my week 2 homework, but here's the one I made for week 1's homework:

Adorable You:

Ooh..and guess what I'm super-excited about?!?! In October, I'm going to the Scrap Girls Digital Scraplink Convention in Salt Lake City! A weekend of classes, chocolate, fun, scrapbooking, taking pictures, and meeting new people! How cool is that!! I can't wait! 212 days to go....

Outside of scrapbooking, I keep very busy with work and sleep. Not much energy these days. Noelle keeps me very entertained, and I love her more than I did when I adopted her. She's starting to get more clingy and follows me around in the mornings as I get ready for work, and meows loudly outside my door when I don't wake up early enough. Here is my little princess:

Noelle

Good enough for now. I'll post more later.

I should go to bed. It's about midnight here, I can't find anything good on TV to watch, I'm surprisingly bored sitting here at my computer, the sleeping meds are kicking in....

...and yet I'm forcing myself to stay awake to see what our challenge will be for week 3 of the Layout Design Challenge. It should be posted soon! I hope!

As soon as it's posted, I can go to bed.

Tomorrow....another whole day of scrapbooking!

Layout Design

One of SAS's big birthday events is a Layout Design Challenge, hosted by Candee (CanDesigns). Each week we are giving a tutorial about various scrapbook design techniques. Our challenge is to create a layout incorporating those techniques, then post them to a special gallery where we can receive comments and constructive criticism. By the end of the week, we have to post a final LO for judging. It is currently week 2, and I've already learned a lot!!

Here's a quick recap:

Week 1: Drop Shadows, Keywords & Designer Credits
Had to use the SAS Welcome Kit - "Feelin' Welcome" by JulieO

My first draft layout:
My final layout for judging:

Week 2: C.R.A.P. Layouts aka Principles of Design
Could use any kit, as long as it was a SAS designer. I used the Autumn Wind Alpha by CanDesigns, Sweater Weather by digiMom Designs, and Faded Bouquet by BooLand Designs

First draft layout:

My final judging layout:

Week 2 challenge ends at 11:59pm tomorrow, Saturday 9/20/08. At that point, we'll be assigned the week 3 challenge. I'll post those LOs sometime next week, and week 4 the following.

Feel free to leave me any comments or suggestions!! You can do so here on my blog, or head over to SAS and find them in the gallery.

JINXED

I'm totally jinxed!! I've tried purchasing scrapbooking stuff from 3 different websites this week....and have had problems with all 3! (Perhaps it's my computer's way of telling me to stop buying more kits because my bank account is getting low and my hard drive is getting close to full.) HAHAHA

First, I had an order for various products from Scrap Girls get lost somewhere in the Twilight Zone between PayPal and Scrap Girls' online store. Second, I tried buying digiMom's adorable Sweater Weather kit from Stone Accents Studios....again, the download links got lost in the Twilight Zone. Third, I was purchasing some products by Pineapple Plantation Designs over at Scrap Orchard...and I completely forgot to add the "free kit with purchase" kit to my shopping cart, which was the reason I was doing shopping there tonight in the first place! (Okay okay, I know, the third one was my mistake.)

Fortunately, all of these sites have such helpful people around who were able to fix my problems (or at least my scrapbooking ones) and get me the kits I wanted. A big THANK YOU to Angie, Julie, Barbara, and Shauna for all your help!

Stone Accents Studios (probably my favorites digi-scrapping websites) is celebrating their 1 year birthday!!! They have tons of fabulous challenges and giveaways happening...scavenger hunts, daily downloads, contests, challenges.....well, you should just go and check it out for yourself! SAS-y Birthday Bash

One challenge I am participating in is their Template Exchange Challenge. I use templates frequently, but have never tried my hand at creating one. This gave me a chance to stretch my creativity and talents.

Here is my template:

And here is a LO I created using this template. Okay, okay...I made the LO first and used that for the basis as my template. ;-)

I created this LO for the September Color Challenge being hosted by Boo (from BooLand Designs) over at SAS. She had a gorgeous color palette chosen this month, and her starter kit was wonderful as always.
